Oxygen Absorbers are needed for long term storage in Food Storage Buckets. This removes the oxygen to keep foods fresh, extends nutritional value and keeps any weevil or bugs from living. For 4, 5 & 6 gallon buckets, use 3 oxygen absorbers; for 1 & 2 gallon buckets, use 2 oxygen absorbers.  This will keep most foods storable for 20+ years.  Once they are exposed to the air, they start to work, so be sure not to leave them out for more than 10-15 minutes.  Any extra absorbers you have left over, you can vacuum seal (recommended) or put in a small, air tight container (ie; canning jar)  Once they feel hard, they are no longer good.
